Wednesday, 24 August, St. Bartholomew, Apostle
 Daily Gospel (Jn 1, 45-51): At that time, Philip found Nathanael and told him, "That which Moses wrote in the law, and the prophets, we have found, Jesus the son of Joseph, the of Nazareth ". Nathanael answered: "Nazareth! Can anything good?". Philip said, "Come and see." Jesus said Nathanael coming and saw him, "Here you have an Israelite indeed, in whom there is no guile." He tells Nathanael: "How do you know me?". Jesus answered him, "Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you." Nathanael answered him, "Rabbi, you are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel." Jesus answered, "Why I told you I saw you under the fig tree, do you think? You will see greater things. " And he added: "Truly, truly, I say to you will see heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man."
