Daily Gospel (Lk 10: 17-24): At that time, they returned happy seventy-two, saying, Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name. " He said, "I saw Satan fall from heaven like lightning. Behold, I have given you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall hurt you; but you do not rejoice because the spirits are subject; but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.
At that time, he was filled with joy by the Holy Spirit and said: I bless you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and have revealed them to little ones. Yes, Father, for such was your gracious will. Everything has been delivered to me by my Father, and no one knows who the Son, but the Father; and who the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.
Turning to the disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes that see what you see! For I tell you that many prophets and kings desired to see what you see but did not see, and hear what you hear, but not heard.
