Gospel Reading Saturday 17 September (click here)

Saturday, 17 September
Daily Gospel (Lk 8, 4-15): At that time, many people having gathered, and coming to Him from every city, said in parable: "He went out a sower to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell to along the way, was tread, and the birds of the air ate, another fell on rock, and after sprouting, dried, not having moisture, another fell among thorns, and growing with it thistles, the They choked it. and other fell on good ground, and brought forth fruit a hundredfold growing. " That said, he exclaimed: "He who has ears to hear, let him hear."

They asked his disciples what this parable, and He said, "To you it is given to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of God to others only in parables, that seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand."

Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. Those along the road are those who have heard; then the devil comes and takes the word of his heart, lest they believe and be saved. Those on rock are those who, hearing the word, receive it with joy; but these have no root; They believe for a while, but when the test desist. What fell among thorns are those who have heard, but along their journey they are choked by the cares and riches and pleasures of life, and do not reach maturity. What falls on good ground are those who, having heard, keep the word with an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with perseverance. "

  Word of God!
