Daily Gospel (Mt 24, 42-51): At that time, Jesus told his disciples: "Watch therefore, for ye know not what day your Lord is coming. But know this: if the homeowner had known what time of night the thief was coming, he would have watched and not let his house be broken. So you also must be ready, because at the time that ye think not the Son of man cometh. Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the lord took over his household, to give them food in due season? Blessed is that servant whom his master on arrival finds him doing so. I assure you he will head all their goods. But if the evil servant that said in his heart, 'My master is delayed,' and begins to beat his fellow servants and eats and drinks with drunkards, come the lord of that servant on the day he does not expect and at the time do not know, he will separate and appoint his portion with the hypocrites; there will be the crying and the grinding of teeth".
